The EDL Server Farm comprises three Web Front-End servers, an indexing server, and a Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise 2-node SQL cluster using EMC’s CLARiiON family SAN in a campus-style disk configuration. Veritas Storage Foundation disk management software ensures synchronization between disparate datacenters. MOSS index servers leverage Microsoft Search Server. This 100 percent custom SharePoint site uses a custom and propriety ASP-based Master page and C# SharePoint Object Model-based WebParts to manage and present thousands of operational process streams, flows, and work instructions for a 24/7 mission critical power-management application’s infrastructure and an additional 10,000+ highly sensitive current and historical documents required under Federal Energy Regulation Commission and North American Electric Reliability Corporation’s compliance and auditing requirements. This effort entailed numerous Detailed Discovery interviews of key executive management and utility operational personnel to determine those document properties critical to SharePoint Content Types and Site Columns design as well as records retention and security strategies.
